Tom Petty
Operations Support Coordinator
Tēnā koutou everyone. My name is Tom, and I am very lucky to be a part of the Blueprint for Learning team as an Operations Support Coordinator. My role involves providing support for all of our amazing workshops, assisting our facilitators, and ensuring all attendees have a positive and meaningful experience. I also look to infuse the principles of Te Tiriti into my work as much as possible.
I am originally from Wales, and a very proud Welshman. I have a background in languages and linguistics, having completed an Honours Degree in Modern Languages (French and Russian) at the University of Exeter in the UK. My studies also included a year studying abroad in Tallinn, Estonia. I am a great lover of language, culture, travel, and inter-cultural communication. Therefore, I am very happy to now live in Te Whanganui-a-Tara and have the chance to immerse myself in Aotearoa’s beautiful surroundings and culture.
I also have a background in mental health support, having spent 4 years as a Volunteer and as Publicity Officer for a mental health listening service. Having received training across a wide variety of different mental health-related issues, I really enjoy having the opportunity to utilise my skills and develop them further at Blueprint for Learning.
In my spare time, you will likely find me reading, watching tennis, playing badminton, or trying to pick up a new language.
