Addiction 101 Webinar

Understanding addiction and recovery.

Description

Addiction 101 is designed to increase awareness and reduce stigma associated with addiction – both at work and everyday life. Usually a one-day workshop, due to the current situation with Covid-19, Addiction 101 will be held as three two-hour webinars delivered over three days.

The Addiction 101 webinar will be delivered through Zoom. To get the most out of it, we recommend you have:

  • A stable internet connection
  • A microphone and camera connected to your computer/laptop/tablet/iPad or smartphone

You are welcome to join the first webinar 15 minutes early, to troubleshoot your tech with our team. If you are unsure if you have suitable technology to enable you to participate in Addiction 101, please contact us before your first scheduled session, so we can assist with your technology issues.

E-learning

Participants will be required to complete a short interactive e-learning module prior to attending the workshop. This module is designed to help participants recognise a range of substance, gambling and other problematic behaviours, explore perception of harm associated with these behaviours and introduce the Te Whare Tapa Whā model of wellbeing.

Anytime, anywhere, and any industry

Addiction 101 is currently delivered remotely via Zoom, to participants anywhere in New Zealand. We can accommodate up to 24 attendees in each workshop, which runs as three two-hour webinars over three days.  We can run workshops for a specific industry or workplace and will work with you to understand your industry and the people who will be attending.

Quality learning

Blueprint for Learning is an NZQA accredited Private Training Establishment. We have the highest quality Category 1 External Education and Review rating in education achievement and self-assessment issued by NZQA.

Our training is interactive, participatory and experientially based – catering for the diverse needs of all our learners with an approach that consistently leads to exceptional levels of learner satisfaction.

Our workshop

During Addiction 101, you will:

  • Use Te Whare Tapa Whā to understand addiction and recovery
  • Recognise signs of addiction issues
  • Relate brain and body responses to addiction
  • Respond supportively to people experiencing addiction issues

Maintain your wellbeing

While New Zealand has moved to Level 2 and we are able to enjoy more freedoms and see friends and family, you may still be feeling increased levels of stress and anxiety. This is perfectly normal. Blueprint for Learning can help you learn how to maintain your wellbeing, and that of your whānau, during Covid-19.
