Fran Silvestri, Director, International Initiative for Mental Health Leadership (IIMHL)
Fran currently holds a key position in mental health leadership; IIMHL was launched to facilitate the sharing of best practices, to provide support and collaboration for leaders of mental health services and to develop robust managerial and operational practices.
A long-time advocate for mental health service users, he has avidly promoted the development of innovation in service delivery.
Fran researched and then developed the Wyman Way Cooperative, a corporation managed by consumers, which has now been successfully operated for over 15 years. Fran was also involved in the Elm City Cooperative initiative where consumers own their own homes. He is an expert in building integrated models between providers and is responsible for numerous publications.
