Customer Service Skills

This workshop is focused on customer service skills in the mental health environment and has been developed in recognition of the unique/distinct needs of the mental health sector. Employing good customer service skills can often make the difference between a negative or positive experience of service provision, for both service users and other customer groups as well as for the service provider.

Learners will gain an understanding of:

  • Explore the variety of people who we ‘serve' as customers of mental health services
  • Develop awareness of customers wants and expectations of mental health services
  • Review individual performance when dealing with customers
  • Consider the importance of communication skills in providing excellent customer service
  • Discuss and develop strategies to overcome barriers to optimise personal performance when dealing with customers.
