A Basket of Alternative Interventions
The aim of this workshop is to consider complementary or alternative treatments and interventions that may assist and/or support people in their journey towards recovery. The focus is on wellness rather than illness and participants will have the opportunity to consider a number of alternative methods as choices and options. This workshop is suitable for all service users, family members and staff, and participants will gain a grater understanding of the range of interventions available.Key topics:
- Introduction to alternative therapy and its relationship to a recovery-focused approach
- Brief overview of alternative therapies, including their origins and effectiveness
- Managing wellness with alternative therapies and therapists
- Choosing an alternative therapy and identifying local resources
- Some check points when choosing an alternative therapy.
Who should attend? All service users, family and mental health workers.
