It was a desire to be involved with people, their wellness and recovery that drew Ann Marie to a career in mental health. Twenty years ago Ann Marie started her career nursing in a psychiatric hospital. Since then she’s seen a lot of change.
Ann Marie’s desire to keep current with latest developments and her mind sharp means she is constantly striving to increase her knowledge. This includes completing a wide range of courses such as her Masters in Nursing and keeping her practicing certificate current. Her years of experience managing and working in clinical mental health services have kept her up-to-date with the sector changes. She says “there’s so much new knowledge in our field, it’s great to be able to take the theory and apply it in a practical way.”
