Marion Blake Biography
Marion Blake
CEO, Platform Trust
Marion has spent most of her working life in the public service in a variety of health, disability and social service settings. These have included leadership roles in hospitals and service management, planning and developing new community services, quality assurance and workforce development.
Matching the changing needs of the workforce with the changing needs of people who use health services has been a systemic feature of service development and redesign over the last twenty years. Marion has participated in many of the workforce committees and developments in the mental health NGO sector in recent years. While working as an Auditor she experienced the activity of the many community organisations providing a range of essential services to users of mental illness and addiction services. The increased understanding of this work assisted her in her current role as CEO of Platform.
Platform is a network that provides linkage, connection, collaboration and gives voice to the work of NGOs. Marion now often finds herself bridging the gap of understanding and translating between the cultures of the community sector and the Government.
This activity is aligned to Marion’s curiosity and interest in community possibility, accountability and engagement which is being articulated by leading international thinkers such as Peter Senge, Peter Block, Marilyn Waring, Meg Wheatley and Paul Hawkin.
