Registered Psychologist
Colleen Rigby is a Senior Fellow and gained her PhD in Psychology at the University of Natal. She is a registered psychologist and runs a private practice.
Her main interests are in Organisational Behaviour and Human Resource Management. She consults to a range of organisations including local government and public and private sector organisations on stress management, management of injury rehabilitation in the workplace, organisational culture surveys, psychological testing, assessment centres, career counselling, employee assistance programmes, design and delivery of training interventions, selection processes, equal opportunities interventions, career development programmes, HR and organisational behaviour strategies, individual counselling, OD interventions, empowerment, managing change, people and technology, strategic human resources, and conflict and negotiation management.
She is on the Editorial Board of The NZ Journal of HRM and has a range of publications. She has taught at postgraduate level in New Zealand and in South Africa, as well as Pacific Island countries, such as Samoa, Tonga, Cook Islands and The Solomon Islands. She has worked not only in academia, but also in the "real world" as a Human Resources Development Manager for a Fortune 500 company and as a Regional Director for the consulting arm of Ernst & Young.
As a lifestyle choice she lives on the Coromandel and enjoys kayaking and windsurfing.
