Accelerating Individual and Organisational Performance
EXEC 516

(15 pts)

This paper examines a series of key issues in the area of organisational behaviour.

The main focus will be on those interpersonal skills that facilitate effective communication within organisations. Issues such as conflict, group dynamics, motivation and negotiation will be examined. Understanding and practical skills in dealing with these issues are essential for organisational efficiency and personal development.

Managing People in Organisations
EXEC 520

(15pts)

Managing people in organisations requires knowledge of human resource management to improve individual and organisational capability. It occupies a central role that embraces strategy, staffing and change. It also demands a clear understanding of the nature of workplace relationships and the legal and social environments in which those relationships occur.

Like most contracts, the employment relationship is at its most vulnerable when things go wrong (e.g. health and safety, discrimination) or where events happen relatively rarely (e.g. dismissals or redundancies).
