Programme Aims
The Executive Leadership and Management Programmes aim to:
- develop participants leadership capability through an understanding of personal and academic leadership and management styles
- expose participants to key skill areas required for management and leadership roles within the mental health and addictions sector
- provide a forum to update and inform key mental health and addictions developments
- stimulate, challenge and educate through exposure to national and international speakers
- foster a culture of professional development for the sector
- encourage networking, peer mentoring and support structures
- promote sustainable leadership outcomes
The programme will cover:
- self awareness, personal growth and goal application
- culture and leadership
- political awareness and its significance in leadership in the sector
- change management
- managing for results including building high performing cultures, identifying stakeholders, understanding the relationship between knowledge, management and performance and decision making
- real skills
- health budgeting
- reflective leadership
- better and promising practice
- organisational outcomes
- workforce development and competencies.
Throughout the programme, participants will be encouraged to consider and apply the following key areas:
- consumer perspectives
- cultural perspectives
- clinical perspectives
- service and organisational perspectives
- family/whanau and community perspectives.
